However sometimes it is possible to book strikingly cheap hotel rooms. On one of my recent trips to Tokyo I booked a hotel room for only $50 per night in a business hotel in Shinjuku, Tokyo. One week after that I visited Tokyo again, but this time I stayed in a much more expensive hotel, for $280 per night.
